90+ Social Media Networks that Help Sustain Green Conversations

One of the handy uses of a blog is for archiving.  In my search for the best (and sometimes less-than-stellar) green marketing and messaging campaigns, I come across all kinds of great sites with immense content.  It’s hard to keep it all easily accessible.  So I blog about the really good stuff. That way I can share the content with you, and keep it on hand for later reference.

Here are 90+ Social Media Networks for Green Messaging for Your Archives

A site that I came across this morning is David Wigder’s Marketing Green blog. Wigder is V.P. of biz dev. for RecycleBank, a venture-backed company that provides incentives for households to recycle.  Formerly he was Sr. V.P. at Digitas, a leading direct and digital marketing agency.

In one of his green marketing posts he outlines more than 90 social media networks that help spawn green conversations. Wigder describes the six types of green social networks, including interaction, commitment, utility, shopping, engagement and activism, then links to numerous examples of each.  His post offers a great overview of the landscape of green social media networks.

To give props to Wigder for sharing his knowledge of green social networks, I’d like to point you to RecycleBank’s engaging series on the recycling process.  They launched this viral campaign in November in honor of National Recycling Day.  Great use of animation and creativity to educate on the importance of recycling and how it all works.
