A long time ago, when I was young, I read an autobiography "Reflections by a Member of the Species" of a brilliant guy, Hoimar von Dithfurth, which he wrote already in 1989. There he explains how Hitler and the Nazies used this Reptilian Brain to their advantage.

As you say, "it's all about fear".

And it is still fear and the very basic emotions controlling most people today. Your advice, not to compete with the other fears, but to address the third part of the brain, the neocortex, is exactly the right thing to do.

We are trying to promote water recycling and waste water treatment in a developing country, Thailand, and every day we have to face people who seem to be totally controlled by their reptilian brain. We will review our marketing now to see if we cannot apply better the points you make about "help the consumer feel more in control" and "replace vagueries with specifics". Thanks.
