Passionate Storytelling is the Engine Behind Google’s Search Spot
A nice bit of storytelling by Google, and all in the confines of its search window, which makes for one helluva product demo as well. It’s so well crafted, that the emotion the spot evokes has attracted more than 4 million views on YouTube. What do you think of it?

I loved it immediately for the obvious reasons – storytelling, great pacing, emotional connection. But what really stands out to me (from an advertising point of view) is that the product itself is inextricably woven into the fabric – one cannot forget that Google search made the happy ending possible. So many spots wow with hyper-creativity, but…what was that product? For example: http://www.boardsmag.com/screeningroom/tvfilm/8885 .

Dead-on, Jack. I agree wholehearted with your assessment, which make us both really, REALLY smart. I also loved the production value of the spot you sent, and you’re right, the actual advertisers is kind of lost.
